At the same time, it also adds value to your home as you've increased the amount of quality square footage. Last and certainly not least, a cozy finished basement can be a source of additional rental income.
When DrainCom's trained professionals lower your basement, we perform waterproofing, replace & install new drains, and even pour a new concrete floor - saving you as much as 70% off the cost of contracting these services separately.
UNDERPINNING
"Underpinning" is the process of strengthening and stabilizing the foundation to support a new basement floor. Underpinning may be necessary for variety of reasons:
- The original foundation may simply not be strong enough
- The usage of the house or building has changed
- The properties of the soil supporting the foundation may have changed
- The basement needs to be lowered below the original footing
Underpinning is accomplished by extending the foundation in depth or in breadth so it either rests on a stronger soil stratum or distributes its load across a greater area.
